Spring Show 2017

The BRHS Spring Show took place on Saturday 17th June 2017 at the new venue of St Peter’s School, Rossett. It was a gloriously warm June afternoon which was the perfect background and helped to make the afternoon a success.

Entries for the various classes were well received and the flowers provided a lovely display of colour on the show tables. The exhibits were judged by Mr and Mrs Coleclough. The trophy for the Best Rose went to Jim Anderson so Elspeth received it on his behalf. The trophy for the most points went to Rita Critchley who was showing for the first time. Although there is no trophy, the best Junior went to Emily Picton.

One of the highlights of the afternoon were two songs performed by the pupils of St Peter’s school. Everybody enjoyed the performance, including the parents and visitors.

Another hit was the cream teas supplied by the Rossett WI. The scones and cakes were delicious and much appreciated by all. The raffle was also popular with an array of prizes.

A major local supplier to retailers supplied a good range of shrubs and plants for sale. There was also a BRHS plant sales table and the bedding plants sold almost at once! There were some very good quality plants for sale, generously donated by members and at the end of the afternoon the sale tables were virtually empty!

In conclusion it was a very successful afternoon, under the direction of Show Secretary, Mrs Carolyn Bates. Judging by the positive feedback from people attending, everyone enjoyed the afternoon in the new venue.
