November Talk

On Wednesday 15th November 2017, Anthony Norman, assisted by his wife Susan, from Conquest Plant Nursery near Macclesfield, educated and entertained some 30 members and guests to an interesting evening "Preparing for Christmas".

As well as demonstrating techniques for making Christmas Wreaths and arrangements, and planting pots with annuals, perennials and bulbs for a Christmas display, Anthony shared a number of useful tips, from the position of drainage holes in containers, to saving compost costs and watering regimes for various different Christmas time plants.

Thanking Anthony, Chairman John Whiteley said "that he was sure that from all the ideas and tips that he had shared, everybody would be "having a go" at some of them. A great talk and demonstration. Your ideas much appreciated, and your energy and enthusiasm is infectious".

After the talk and an interesting Q&A session, the audience were able to purchase a wide variety of Christmas plants and gifts, and have numerous discussions with Anthony and Susan.
